03 / Project example

Busy chats.
Clearer follow-ups.

Alfred is a WhatsApp assistant built for Thriving Parents Group (TPG), a community of 700+ caregiver members. It helps volunteer admins follow discussions, understand shared information and spot requests needing attention.

Alfred mainly runs on our own computers to help keep costs low. It can also use cloud AI when needed, while admins review the results and decide what to do next.

Six ways Alfred helps

Built around the work of TPG admins.

Daily and weekly summaries

Bring key discussions, shared resources and open questions into daily summaries and weekly digests.

Answers to questions

When admins tag Alfred in the admin chat, it uses recent discussions and quoted replies to help answer their questions.

Reading images

Recognise text and visual details in shared images, so useful information can inform the conversation.

Reading shared links

Read accessible public webpages to add context and help explain what members have shared.

Admin alerts

Highlight unanswered requests, privacy or consent concerns and possible urgent wellbeing needs for admin review.

Group admin

Support authorised admins with private quiet-hours reminders, membership notices and group membership checks.

How Alfred works, data handling and screenshots

Behind the scenes

AI support, with people in charge.

Local AI to control running costs.

Monitoring, replies and summaries use local AI first. This reduces routine cloud AI usage and helps keep running costs manageable.

Cloud AI when needed.

Alfred can send relevant chat information to cloud AI for processing when needed. This provides another way to complete tasks and helps the service keep running.

People lead the response.

Alfred brings information together and flags items that may need attention. TPG admins review the context, decide how to respond and provide the human care behind the group. Alfred supports their judgement. It does not replace emergency services or professional care.

See families, volunteers and available support on a map.

Geospatial Visualiser

A mapping tool helps staff find nearby volunteers and see where families receive support.

  • Find suitable volunteers by distance, language, availability and how much support they can offer.
  • View families by area and support received, spot missing addresses and compare survey results over time.

AI for documents and data

Answers from your records

Ask questions and create reports from your documents and data.

Private AI Chat

Ask questions about uploaded records and turn the answers into Excel reports or PowerPoint drafts. The tool runs in a privately hosted AI workspace, with staff reviewing the results.

  • Summarise records, compare months and check the figures behind an answer.
  • Download the results as Excel workbooks or PowerPoint presentations, and ask for changes in the same chat.
